Presenter: Mary Lou Leedale, APICS Tucson President, CPIM, CSCP, CLTD

Topic:    “Blues, Brews and Beyond: How the Triple Bottom Line impacts our daily lives”.

Sustainability and its triple-bottom-line tenets of people, planet, and profit are growing increasingly important in supply chain and operations management. We will look at how sustainability is defined, how it is measured and how sustainability measures impact us as consumers.  Who doesn’t like to kick back, enjoy a beverage and listen to a little music? We will look at the sustainability initiatives of the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, Taylor Guitars, and the microbrewery industry.

Bio: After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Arizona with a BSBA in Operations Management and MIS, Mary Lou worked as a business analyst for a software developer, managed all operations for a small manufacturer and was a planner/buyer for women’s footwear at Arizona Mail Order.  She went to her first APICS PDM in 1985 in Springfield, Ohio when the dean of Wittenberg University was the speaker for “Spouses’ Night”.  Last fall, she was one of the first 100 people to take the Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution exam and earned the CLTD credential as the capstone to her APICS career.
